Logo for a company called:

‘weatherhow’

The logo has to be static.

The company will provide weather information on different medias. The main service provided in this direction is the weather forecast and the current weather status trough a website. In the same time the company will provide in similar ways weather related information on digital devices like info-points and mobile devices and weather informations on different sites trough dynamic banners but this is the second part of the project that will be developed later on. For now the company needs a logo.

Brief for the logo:
The company will communicate informations (current/real-time and/or forecast) about the following things:
- the weather status[/an icon] (showing if it’s Sunny, Mixed-sunny-with-clouds, Clouded, Rain, Storm or Snow)
- temperature (you can think of this as a color variation or as a sort of a bar or symbol)
- humidity (you can think at this visually as the background)
- wind speed ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wind_speed here there are some specific signs that work like symbols )
- daylight/sunset/moonlight ( you can think at this visually as colors , and the way they are saturated/desaturated and lighted with luminosity or similar)

In order for this logo to function as it should it has to communicate, if possible, all the elements previously mentioned (and in the same time it has to be simple, the elements must be joined together in a way so that the whole composition will be perceived as one logo). In this way the logo itself could be dynamic and basically it will be a flash or a server generated image always changing itself on web (depending on some parameters like ip, forcast etc) — on prints and other it could be replaced with the most common one or just a simplified version

For example:
if is Mixed(sunny with clouds) , this weather status has to be shown with one simple and clean symbol or in a playful way with the typography or anything else that you will find it appropriate; the same if is a little windy – it has to have the appropriate arrow somewhere (use it as an ‘r’ or join the symbol with one of the letters etc.) and so on; if it is midday a small shadow could cast in the middle or have the sun centered or any thing else like that. Remember, not all elements are required to exist within the logo… but is nice to have them all. In the same time it has to look good: if the logo looks ugly (crowded), just get rid of some elements.

Now, for this stage the logo doesn’t have to be dynamic. I need only 1 or 2 instances. After this project will finish another one will be open with a much bigger budget and here the designer who made the static logo will be invited to be the first to bid and to do the rest of the work (a sort of animated logo or some sequences of possible instances).

Note’ A mock-up is mandatory. Please do provide one in any way you feel comfortable: draw it the way you want to look like , create it roughly in your favorite 2D/3D application an make a screenshot of it and secure it with a watermark or whatever you feel comfortable. Best design wins (or maybe 2 winners if i will get two outstanding designs that could both work).

Note” Try as much as possible to set a short timeline. Time is essential: try 1 or 2 days for the first drafts and a few after.
